The thesis is devoted to studying cognitive psychological mechanisms causing efficiency of foreign languages studying by students of a humanitarian –technical higher educational establishment. The theoretic-methodological approaches to the problem of foreign languages training as mastering of general cultural and professional development of future engineers-teachers are considered. It is shown, that foreign languages mastering is considered as a way of memory and thinking development in existing researches. However, also other aspect – the influence of mnemic and thinking processes on efficiency of foreign language mastering is deserved attention.

The system analysis of foreign texts contents mastering as a factor of engineers-teachers’ professional training is presented in the thesis. The basic mnemic and mental cognitive mechanisms providing the processing of verbal information and foreign language mastering by students are determined. The structurally-functional model of verbal information mastering process is constructed.



The practical recommendations about the organization of cognitive processes at foreign language training are developed.
