The dissertation is dedicated to the problem of social-professional adaptation of the students of the pedagogical university. On the basis of theoretical study of this problem the place of adaptation in the process of a specialist's professional development was clarified, the genesis, essence and kinds of adaptation were examined. The capability of project activity in the realization of conditions for the successful social-professional adaptation of the students was examined. The efficiency of the model of the students’ social-professional adaptation by means of the project activity was theoretically proved and experimentally examined.
A special course for students “Project activity as the factor of social-professional adaptation of the students” and the bank of projects for students of various courses were elaborated and introduced. It was proved that project activity is an effective way of students’ social-professional adaptation.
